• CF-WTE de Havilland Canada Inc., Downsview, ON. Rolled out 27-Dec-1967. First flight 05-Feb-1968.

Aircraft made a round-the-world sales tour flight in 1968.

Note from Sheldon D. Benner: Wilhelm returned the aircraft to Downsview after the world sales tour finished in Japan.  He flew it from Tokyo to Guam, Honolulu then to San Franciso in 3 steps that took about 15 hours each.

• CF-WTE Leased to Nordair Artic, Frobisher Bay, NT., Regd Aug-1969.

• CF-WTE Returned to de Havilland Canada Inc. Regd Nov-1969.

• CF-WTE La Ronge Aviation, La Ronge, SK. Regd 19-Dec-1969.

Accident: Banks Island, NT 72,59N 122.30W. 25-Nov-1971. The pilot commenced descent from 2,500ft. Lights at the destination camp were temporarily lost due to what was thought to be patches of fog. The pilot crossed the strip at 2,000ft descending in a 270° wide turn to 1,000ft to line up with the strip. Lights did not become visible again after the turn inbound and the aircraft struck ground 2 miles short of the strip at 800ft. No navigation or radio aids were available. Substantial damage suffered to the aircraft. No injury to two crew and two passengers.
