Note: 04-Apr-2015This aircraft was re-fitted with an auxiliary ferry fuel system, to enable overseas delivery The fuel tanks are manufactured by Turtle-Pac Pty., Ltd. The bladder tanks were tested to 24 psi, without failure and tanks were leak tested to 5.0 psi. The tanks meet the requirements for FAR 23.965 and FAR 25.965. The tanks are located in the cabin at floor level for even load distribution. They are secured in place using 6 - 3333 lbs rated cargo straps and existing seat attachment points using PN78101 track fittings. Fuel is routed through the individual tank outlet and fittings, through Aeroquip, mil-6000 type 3/4" ID hose and fittings to the pump and aft tank vent. Fuel enters in the top of the aircraft fuel cells, located in the belly of the aircraft, number one and/or seven. This fills front and /or rear aircraft fuel tanks. The flow of fuel from the ferry system to the aircraft tanks is by gravity and/or pump pressure, adequate at all power settings. The fuel supply will enable utilization of all but one(1) gallon of fuel per individual cell. A placard detailing operation of the ferry fuel system is displayed in the aircraft. The GWTO in the ferry configuration does not exceed 140% of the normal GWTO, in accordance with de Havilland DHC-6-300 operating data manual.

Service Difficulty Report 06-Jul-2015. The aircraft fitted with amphib floats had a nose gear failure previously at 344.5 hours. Initial findings of the failure were thought to be from intergranular corrosion. New parts were fitted at that time. At aftt 422.6, 02-Jul-2015 the nose gears were removed as an internal company inspection to ensure that the aircraft is being inspected to a superior standard. Once the left nose gear was removed, disassembled and cleaned, it was found that the same part that previously failed was found to be cracked in several places and if not found would have led to a nose gear failure.
