Incident: St. Croix Seaplane Base, USVI. 17-Sep-1989. The aircraft was undergoing maintenance in a hanger at the Seaplane Base as Hurricane Hugo approached. After the hurricane had passed the aircraft was found upside down in the hanger with both wings having been torn off. The wreckage subsequently transported to Dodson’s for reduction to spares. The damage to aircraft and other material items caused to the aircraft caused the operator to go into bankruptcy and ceased operations in 1992.
