Accident: Tau, Manu'a Samoa, 12-May-1984, According to the pilot, upon arrival in the vicinity of the airport it was determined that the windsock indicated south easterly winds at 15 to 20 kts. This, plus light to moderate turbulence encountered in the traffic pattern led the crew to fly a slightly faster than normal approach at 85 knots with 37.5 degs of flaps. During the flare wind shear was encountered causing a decrease in airspeed and an excessive rate of descent. Power was added but the aircraft landed hard in a wings level attitude.- repaired. Two crew and eighteen passengers uninjured.

Accident: Unknown Location, Samoa, 08-Jan-1994 A low level wind shear was experienced resulting in a hard landing. the pilot reported reduced left brake effectiveness and the aircraft rolled off the runway onto a coral packed Seriesvice road. Damage consisted of a pinched hydraulic brake line on the left side, two landing gear compression blocks (one on each side), faring, and the tail skid. The pilot reported weather conditions of 2,500 ft. overcast, unrestricted visibility, winds variable north northwest 15 gusts to 25, the runway being located on the downwind side of a 1621-foot mountain with the windsocks on either end of the runway opposing each other.
