Accident: Shashgow Ghazni, Afghanistan, 10-Mar-1983. Crashed while enroute from Uruzgan to Kabul, the weather deteriorated and the pilot chose to climb to FL185 and continue the flight under visual flight rules (VFR). The aircraft crashed in an area of showers and thunderstorms. The cause was considered to be the continued VFR flight in poor weather and a consequent physical impairment (lack of oxygen when flying at high altitude). Two crew and seventeen passengers killed. No survivors. Aircraft written off.
